Application for Authorised Purpose Grant
When a licence is applied for, a society has to specify which authorised purposes, under section 4 of the Gambling Act 2003, it intends to raise money for. These authorised purposes are shown on each venue approval. A society cannot make grants to any purpose which is not included in the authorised purpose statement on the licence.
Examples of Successful Grants
- General running costs relating to the Ashhurst RSA's non-commercial activities.
- Wages of staff specifically employed to help the club meet its non-commercial aims and objectives.
- Payment of affiliation fees to the RSA national body.
- Grants to local sports clubs and charitable groups, particularly those involved with the young people in the Ashhurst community.
- Maintenance of and improvements to club rooms and the facilities therein for the benefit of members.
